Well, my goodness, where has 12 months gone? It really doesn’t seem a whole year since I became President!

As you will see in my report later in this newsletter, much has happened this year during my tenure as President and most of it is positive. The Executive Board and the workings of the club and charity foundation have been streamlined to make them more effective and efficient and I hope that the further changes planned will be continued with the new board. It has been a pleasure to work with my fellow Board members and Elitsa and Zdravka in the office and I thank them for all the hard work they have put into this successful year (and believe me ladies, it has been hard work!)

Several of us have agreed to stand again for the next Board but Fatma Senem Ustun and Maria Naslednikova have decided to take a rest this year, so thank you ladies for your amazing work during the last season and we do hope you both will continue to be a regular face at events and take an active part in the club.

This Board’s work isn’t quite finished and we still have our fantastic 25th Birthday celebrations to have over the weekend of Friday 25th – Sunday 27th April. If you are planning to come to the dinner/dance then get your order in quickly as the tickets are selling fast – and at 65 leva for a 3 course meal with wine and live music and much more it really is a bargain – so don’t leave your booking until the last minute or you may be disappointed! See the advert later in this issue for more details.

There was a very successful newcomers coffee morning held at Confetti where 6 of us sat and chatted to 2 new members. Thank you to the ladies that came to be a welcoming face.

Sibeal and I took our teenagers to play pool during our planned evening event this month. Unfortunately no other members came but we all had a scream and our boys particularly enjoyed beating their mothers! Clearly one of the skills for either President or Treasurer isn’t an ability to play pool! Maybe we can repeat the event on another occasion and some experts can come and show us how to ‘up our game’ and so get our revenge!

As both western and Orthodox Easter falls during April and many will be away, we are concentrating on the birthday weekend activities and are not planning on holding many extra events in April but there are already a couple of events in the diary for May and more planned so we hope to see lots of you there.

In the mean time, have a joyous April and Happy Easter and spring season to all.
