I would like to thank everyone who took the time to vote at last months AGM, I am really thrilled to have one more year on the board and to be able to work as hard as I can in the interests of the club and all of you. The new and old board have been working very closely together in the last weeks to provide a smooth transition. Everyone is very positive and we hope to provide you with your familiar and regular expectations mixed with some new and exciting ideas!
The IWC as a club, has changed throughout the years, and so it should, we are more than 25 years old! Like a lot of women, we have been large and small, but usually somewhere in between! But above all, we have grown in stature, we have gained wisdom and experience through all our members who have gone before and with our current members who will keep us focused on the future. I like to think we are all members of this club because above all else, it is our sincerity that shines through.
The club has had the support of Matti’D for a long time and in turn we chose them as our regular venue for the coffee mornings. As there is a lot of change in the air, we decided that as well as the different summer venues, we would try some other venues that may be suitable to hold our regular coffee mornings. This month we chose Club Peroto, it is within the same area, has good access and a nice space. We hope you like it!
There will now be two event tables at the coffee mornings, Nadya will be running our club activities and Nara will also have a table for the charity events and news, these tables represent both sides of the club and will have something to offer for everyone. Please visit both tables and show your support for our newest board members.
Toi has already started making preparations for the bazaar and will be making announcements of her progress in the coming months, however, it is never to early to become involved!. If you have time to serve on the bazaar team, want to know how to be part of a stall, volunteer, donate or maybe have some information to share, please talk to Toi now!
Lastly, I would like to share some great news, Elitsa, our office manager, and her husband have very recently adopted a little baby boy! On behalf of the board I would like to congratulate them both and wish them great happiness. Elitsa will now be on maternity leave but very kindly has offered to still manage some of her tasks from home. Zarina will still be your day-to-day contact at the office if you have any questions, need information or have any membership issues. I would like to thank both Elitsa and Zarina for their constant support and dedication to the club.
Have a wonderful May!
