I hope you are enjoying the lovely sunny days here in Sofia. Since quite a few of you are spending your summer in Bulgaria, we have organized some events for your enjoyment. Please sign up for these events and relish your summer. You can sign up either by phone or email. Here is a short overview of the events in July:

13 July 2011 (Wednesday) from 09:45 h to 16:00 h- BBQ at the Home for children deprived of parental cares N. Vaptzarov- in the town of Roman (130 km NW from Sofia). There are 100 children in the orphanage, aged 7-19, 40 with disabilities. There is also a Day Care Centre for children with disabilities from the region. Meeting point: Alexander Nevsky Cathedral at 10:00 h. Expected time of return – about 16:00 h. Transport: car-pooling or Tabitha’s van (6 seats available). The last date for sign up is Sunday, 10 July 2011.
For the last 7-8 years IWC and Tabitha Foundation have organized BBQ in the orphanage every summer. We have supported renovations in the Home and educational and vocational programs. The BBQ is an opportunity to spend a day with the less fortunate children from the orphanage and pay them attention. There will be young volunteers from Holland who are renovating some rooms in the orphanage and helping the children.
We kindly request the participants to bring some cakes, sweets, fruits, soft drinks, quiches, salads etc. Bring your children too!

18 July (Monday) at 10:30 h –Bulgarian Cooking Demo by Maria Naslednikova. Learn to make delicious Bulgarian food using Peppers! Maria will show us different ways to prepare dishes using peppers e.g.., stuffed peppers with meat, roast peppers and many others. Fees: 10 BGN. The last date for sign up is Friday, 15 July 2011.

27 July 2011 (Wednesday) from 08:30 h to 16:30 h – Sightseeing trip to Saeva Dupka Cave and Ostrich Farm and Ostrich Museum- HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. For trip schedule and for further information, please see attached document. Kids, family and friends are welcome to join us on this exciting trip. The cost for the trip is approximately 20 BGN (with carpooling). This includes entry fee for Museum + Ostrich farm + Caves + cost of carpooling + English speaking guide/ lecture. It does not include lunch. The last date for sign up is Friday, 22 July 2011.
